Nasolabial Folds and Smile Lines in Dallas, TX

Nasolabial folds are the lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Filler is the most familiar treatment, but it is not always the right first step. Dr. Rajan Kohli, MD at Lakewood Med Spa looks at why the fold is deepening before recommending anything.

Booking-menu prices shown where the menu lists them. Nasolabial fold filler is quoted at consultation because it depends on how deep the fold is and what is causing it.

Why nasolabial folds deepen

Some fold is normal and appears with every smile. It deepens when the cheek fat pad descends, when volume is lost in the midface, and when skin loses collagen. That means the cause is often higher up than the fold itself.

Filling only the line can look heavy. In many people the better plan restores support to the cheek first, so the fold softens as a result.

Treatment options

Hyaluronic acid filler can soften a fold directly or restore the cheek support behind it. A collagen biostimulator such as Sculptra or Radiesse builds support more gradually. When the fold is mostly skin laxity, skin tightening such as HIFU or XERF may be part of the plan. Dr. Kohli explains which of these suits your face and which does not.

Frequently asked questions

Nasolabial fold questions

Which treatment works for nasolabial folds?

No single treatment suits everyone, because the cause differs from person to person. Filler is the most common choice, and restoring cheek support often works better than filling only the fold. Dr. Kohli examines your face and recommends the option that fits.

How much does nasolabial fold filler cost in Dallas?

Filler at Lakewood Med Spa is priced per syringe: $675 for lips and $850 for cheeks, chin and jawline are listed on the booking menu. Dr. Kohli confirms the exact price and how many syringes your nasolabial folds need at your no-charge consultation, before any treatment.

Can filler make nasolabial folds look worse?

It can if too much is placed in the fold itself, which can look heavy or unnatural. A conservative plan that also supports the cheek usually looks more natural, and Dr. Kohli explains the reasoning before treating.

How long do nasolabial fold fillers last?

Duration depends on the product, the area and your body, and it can range from many months to over a year. Dr. Kohli explains what to expect for the product chosen for you and when a touch-up makes sense.

Are there non-filler options for smile lines?

Yes. Depending on the cause, skin tightening such as HIFU or XERF, collagen biostimulators, and RF microneedling may be discussed. Filler is not required for everyone, and a consultation sorts out which route is reasonable.

Is filler near the nose and mouth risky?

This area has important blood vessels, so risks include bruising, swelling, lumps and, rarely, serious vascular complications. Choosing a physician who explains how complications are handled is one of the most useful safety decisions you can make.

Results vary and no treatment is guaranteed to give a particular outcome. See also all dermal filler options.
